Any man who is unfortunate enough to develop fat deposits on the chest knows the mental agony associated with gynecomastia. The condition can badly dent the self-esteem and self-confidence of a person. It can also rob them of some of the most common pleasures of life, like sunbathing and swimming. Due to this, most people who suffer from gynecomastia opt for treatment methods. Low grades of gynecomastia are often treated with liposuction. However, liposuction is not the all-happy-cure it is often made out to be. It has its own advantages and disadvantages.

The one great advantage of liposuction is the time factor. You can lose excess fat in a matter of hours. No waiting, no guesses; only instant results. Unlike exercises and hormone treatments that take a lot of patient waiting before results are perceived, liposuction involves the sucking out of fat. So, the difference is almost immediately visible.

But, liposuction for gynecomastia has a number of disadvantages too. First is the pain. The procedure involves cutting of skin and as with all surgical procedures, some amount of pain is unavoidable. In most cases, doctors recommend a recovery period of 2-5 days, depending on the extent of the operation. If you enjoy a rigorous lifestyle, you will need to slow down for at least a week or more.

When people with high-grade gynecomastia are surgically treated, problems do arise. In many cases, there is a lot of residual scarring which necessitates a second operation. Even in cases where a second operation is not necessary, scars may be quite obvious.

Liposuction can also lead to uneven body contours. This happens because each side of the chest is operated on separately. So, chances of a slight difference in contours of the two sides are quite high.

Cost is another consideration. Gynecomastia Liposuction is not inexpensive. The cost of an operation could be anywhere between $2,000 and $4,000. In case a second surgery is needed, the costs could go up considerably. Unfortunately, you cannot cover these expenses with an insurance unless your doctor can show that the surgery was required on medical grounds. This explains why many people opt for medication and exercises as probable modes of treatment, even when the results are slow.

By: John Drummond

About the Author:

Laparoscopic endometriosis procedure is a very popular option in those that need this type of surgery, most of the time for diagnostic reasons.

Endometriosis and the way it is treated is a huge subject of controversy. Maybe because of all the pain and fertility issues combined with the fact that the treatment has not changed for so long.
By the end of this concise article, you will know all you need to make an informed decision about the road ahead of you. Also, we will look into some very exciting news that offers hope that soon, surgery will be a thing of the past in endometriosis.

Laparoscopic endometriosis procedure – basic facts

Laparoscopy endometriosis surgery is the less invasive option for endometriosis surgery. It is performed using a thin optic hose that is inserted in you through a very small incision. Since the beginnings of this procedure in 1970s when it was just used for tubal ligations and other simple procedures laparoscopy has come a long way.

Laparoscopic endometriosis procedure – pros and cons

You might think that if you have the option to have a small incision you have no reason in the world to go with the more invasive and “messy” option called laparotomy. The fact that it makes a small incision and has a shorter recovery period makes laparoscopy the lesser harm, but it also has its cons such as:

not all doctors are trained in the procedure so take your time and find a doctor that has done the procedure for at least a dozen of times once the “go in” the doctors can see less and have less space to work if they find endometriosis tissue they can remove, they can remove more of it in laparotomy Laparoscopic endometriosis procedure – how it’s done

It is usually done under general anesthetics and most of the time, you will be asked to stay overnight. It is also known as the keyhole procedure because the incision is so small and soon after the surgery it will not even be noticeable.

During surgery, your body will be slightly tilted and your legs will be slightly higher then you head. They will then inflate your abdomen a little bit using Carbon Dioxide so that the insides become more accessible for the instruments.

Then, you surgeon will slide a tube with a valve called a trocar, to prevent the gas leaving your abdominal cavity.

You’ll have a catheter during your surgery and they may leave it on until you are fully awake.

Then, a long thin instrument called a laparoscope is inserted into your abdomen to inspect the abdomen and the pelvis. The laparoscope is like a long thin telescope that allows your surgeon to take a look at your reproductive organs.

Laparoscopic endometriosis procedure – soon probably a thing of the past

Laparoscopic endometriosis procedure is the only way to determine for sure whether you have endometriosis. The issue with endometriosis is in the fact that the conventional medicine knows so little about the causes of the disease. But, lately, some exciting news have been reported on the discoveries of underlying chemical imbalances that seem to be responsible for the triggering of this terrible ailment that can rob you of your health and children. The new protocol is called Violet Protocol and many women report to have reversed endometriosis even when they had scheduled surgery. The title of the book explaining everything in detail is “Endometriosis Bible & Violet Protocol” and you can learn more about it by visiting http://endometriosis-bible.com/ and assuming control of your life and health.

By: Gwen Simmons

About the Author:

You are very lucky if you have waited until now to consider having liposuction, or liposculpture body contouring. The new laser liposuction techniques are a vast improvement over traditional methods. The new laser technology melts fat and tightens skin resulting in a much gentler liposculpture procedure and minimal loose hanging skin after liposuction.

Whether you have a double chin, tummy fat after childbirth, saddle bags, spare tire, or just little problem areas around the hips or thighs, the new laser assisted liposculpture and laser body contouring techniques may be what you are looking for.

Not all of the machines in use are the same. Some laser wavelengths, such as the 924nm and 924/975nm work much better than others. You need to understand which technology is best if you are considering laser liposuction.

Liposuction is the most commonly performed plastic surgery operation.

Problems Associated with Traditional Liposuction-Traditional liposuction is done by inserting a metal tube called a cannula beneath the skin into fat containing areas of the body. High pressure suction is applied and fat is suctioned out from under the skin. While the procedure works well, it is traumatic as the suction pulls out not only fat but also some of the connective tissue which holds the skin tight to the body. There are several problems which can occur after liposuction:

o	Loose Skin After Liposuction
o	Contour Deformities-Skin Irregularities
o	Prolonged Bruising
o	Difficult and Painful Recovery

How Laser Liposuction Works-During laser assisted liposuction, a very small laser fiber is inserted beneath the skin. Heat from the laser melts the fat into a thin liquid. The liquid fat is then more easily removed with very small cannulas usually only2-3 millimeters in diameter. The heat from the laser also tightens the skin, and closes many blood vessels, thus less bleeding.

Advantages of Laser Liposuction

o	Skin Tightening!!!!!!!
o	Liquefaction of Fat = Fewer Contour Deformities
o	Uniform Skin Appearance after Liposuction
o	Smaller Cannulae = Tiny Incision
o	Much Less Traumatic
o	Can Contour Visible Areas in Thinner Patients
o	Excellent for Touch Ups after standard Liposuction

Which Laser is best for Liposuction?

There are several different machines available using several different laser wavelengths-the 924nm, combined 924/975nm, the 1064nm, and the 1308nm are the most popular.

I prefer the 924nm and combination 924/975nm laser because the 924nm is very selectively absorbed by fat tissue. The 924nm liquefies 3 times as much fat as some of the other wavelengths and is also more strongly absorbed by blood vessels, which helps reduce bleeding and bruising.

Are You A Candidate for Laser Liposuction?
If you are healthy, do not smoke, and have extra fat beneath your chin, around your tummy, on your hips, thighs, arms or knees, and are relatively fit and not obese, then you are likely an excellent candidate for laser liposuction. The younger you are the better your skin tightening will be after laser liposuction. I have, however, seen good skin tightening after laser liposuction in a 70 year old person.

If you are obese and significantly over weight, you should lose weight first before liposuction.

If you are considering laser liposuction you really need to know the facts and understand the technology. Once you do the advantages of the new 924nm and 924/975nm based laser liposuction technology are obvious-there is nothing else like it on the market.

By: Brooke Seckel

About the Author:

Random Testing?

Like a lot of People in this USA who have a job who go to work regularly they get paid at the end of the week for doing that work. Then they pay their taxes, and the government distributes those taxes as it sees fit.

Now In order for us (the workers) to get those paychecks, when they applied for work they were required to pass a random urine test to see if they were a suitable person for that job, and also to test to see if they were free from drugs to qualify for that job. Most people have no problem with this situation as they see it as part and parcel of the normal routine of getting work and keeping the workplace safe for themselves and everyone else who may frequent the workplace.

Now here is the rub.

What most People DO have a problem with is the distribution of their taxes to people who Don’t have to pass a urine test.

So here is the Big Question. Shouldn’t one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check?

We all (the workers) had to pass the (urine) test to earn the money to pay the taxes to pay for the public assistance which the government sees fit to “give” them (those on Public assistance)!

Please understand, Most people have no problem with helping people get back on their feet.

BUt, on the other hand, MOST People you ask these days DO HAVE a problem with helping someone sitting on their REAR, doing drugs, while they (the rest of the People) work their Rear end off to earn enough money to pay their taxes to keep “those” people on public assistance in the lifestyle they have become accostomed too, sitting on their Butts, or lounging around just doing nothing, or even worse, going out and causing problems for the other good folk who paid the taxes to keep them in that lifestyle !!.

Can you imagine how much money the State (and we as individual tax payers) would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check ?

Something has to change in this country – and soon!

By: Geoffrey Lord

About the Author:

Stomach cramps are painful. There’s no other way to put it other than that they are painful nuisances that can be caused from either over eating, gas, or digestive problems. If you are a person who frequently deals with stomach cramps that are food related, then here are some tips you can put to use to prevent stomach cramps.

In terms of digestive cramps, you need to follow the following rules: you need to chew your food thoroughly. This may seem like a basic and corny step to take, but it is one that most commonly benefits those who use it. Thoroughly chewing your food makes it easier for the food to digest. Sometimes food not digesting properly is the primary cause of these problems.

Another thing you need to keep in mind is what kind of foods give your body gas. While you probably know your own body better than anybody, be sure to avoid foods that are well known to cause cramps. No matter how tasty the food, you need to weigh whether or not you think the taste is worth the pain.

It would also do you some good to just exercise some more. While it may seem kind of cheesy to recommend exercise to get rid of the possibility of stomach cramps, it is a tried and true method since exercising is a great way to boost the digestive process. Just remember that following these steps is a great way to avoid the pain of stomach cramps.

By: Jim Corkern

About the Author:

Lap band surgery is a surgical procedure that involves using a gastric band and attaching around the top of the stomach. By attaching this silicone band to this area of your stomach, your hunger can be manipulated, and you will feel fuller for longer. Over time, your body will naturally feel this fullness, and you will eat less. By ensuring that the amount of food you are eating is less you will begin to lose weight and be healthier.

Although this surgery has become very popular, it is still a surgical procedure and one that has to be thought about carefully. It has been proved to be highly successful and is something that you may want to consider. Obesity has become a huge problem worldwide and more people than ever before are suffering from some form of this condition. If you have found that you are overweight and cannot lose the weight you have gained, lap band surgery may be an option for you.

The surgeon will make a number of different incisions in your torso to enable them to perform the surgery. Using a small camera, the surgeon will place the band around the top of your stomach. This will be secured in place with stitches and the remaining part of the band will be placed in a port underneath the skin just above the abdomen.

The specially designed port enables the medical staff to inflate the band after the lap band surgery, which can help to speed up your weight loss. Although the overall procedure should only take about an hour, it is still surgery and recovery time may be different for everyone. Inflating the band with saline will make the passage to your stomach even smaller. This will make you feel fuller for longer and ensure that you do not eat too much.

In some cases, the band may be too tight after the lap band surgery, and your doctor will be able to loosen the band. Often it is trial and error with the lap band surgery to determine what the optimum capacity for your stomach is, and the band may need to be adjusted several times. However, once it is adjusted correctly, you will find that you can eat small nutritional meals that will make you feel full.

The success rate of the lap band surgery has proved to be very high, and many people have gone on to lose the weight they needed to, making them healthier. Although the surgery is not a miracle cure, it is the perfect tool to enable you to lose weight at a steady pace. Combined with a good diet and exercise plan the lap band surgery can be a huge success.

You will need to be committed to losing weight for this type of surgery to be a success, and there are certain foods and drinks that are not recommended. However, if you fully understand everything there is to know about the surgical procedure, you are more likely to be a success story. Every element of your life will need to be looked into before you can have the surgery, as lap band surgery is not suited to everyone.

By: Clifton E Thomas

About the Author:

Today people have to deal with a fast paced life and excessive stress in the work front. Thus they do not get enough time to work out and lead a healthy life. This has led to an increase in obesity level and hence a need of a quick fix weight loss technique. This means today there are more and more people are opting for liposuction cosmetic surgery.

There has been an alarming rise in the cosmetic surgery with the obesity epidemic on an alarming rise. In this surgical procedure the fat is sucked out from the different parts of the body like the abdomens and the thighs. This is done by making small incisions under the skin with the help of a stainless steel tube.

After the fat is removed from the body, the general procedure is to leave the incision which has been made open. This is done to control edema and let the draining of the excess blood and liquid from the wound.

The wound created is then covered with pads which are absorbent and capture the fluid which is drained. These absorptive pads are fixed to the wounds with the help of a surgical garment which is compressed. If you want to get the fat removed from your face and neck then the garment has to be worn for at least 18 – 36 hours after the operation. The actual usage of the garment is generally decided depending on the place from where the fat is extracted.

A few years back though, the garment was recommended to be used for only two to six weeks. But with advancement in the medical field and in technology, the usage of the garment is advised only until the drainage of the fluid is complete.

This garment is only advised to be used to ensure that there is no unwanted fluid retention or swelling. It ensures that the wound heals in an uniform manner. This surgical garment has different levels of elasticity which ranges from medium to high. This elasticity is used to apply a level of pressure on the affected area. Thus it helps in blood drainage and the anaesthetic fluid which tend to accumulate under the affected area post surgery.

Apart from the use of garment there are other ways of reducing fluid. One of the most common methods of reducing this fluid from the affected area is to place tiny holes in the skin around the surgical area. The medical experts also use HK pads at the suture levels on the skin. This is done to pull out and absorb the fluid. And the most common and uncomplicated way is to leave the wound open so that the draining of the fluid happens naturally.

It is important that drainage happens rapidly so that the wound will heal fast. It also helps to reduce pain in a considerable manner and avoids formation of any sort of bruising which normally is the main concern during the period of post surgery.

By: Mikely Melisha

About the Author:
